Whether you are a full-time student or juggling a full-time job and school, gaining the necessary experience for your chosen career field can be difficult. That’s why the upcoming 2021 Virtual Career Fair on March 12 is the perfect time to gain the experience you need. More than 50 unique employers will participate in this year’s fair, and many of them are seeking UMGC students and alumni to fill internship and career launch opportunities. Student Internships & Co-Ops | LEAD Program for Aspiring Project Managers

Cox offers of variety of career opportunities that allow students to enhance their leadership skills through professional development in a number of areas such as advertising, technology, and business. One such program is Cox’s LEAD Program, an immersive, two-year leadership development program concentrated on the project management discipline.

Year-round Part-time Spring/Fall and Full-time Summer Internships

The CareFirst College Relations Program provides a broad selection of internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates. CareFirst interns work on a variety of corporate initiatives and projects that impact the business while acquiring an overview of how decisions are made at the top. Additionally, interns receive ongoing mentorship and training to help them identify project goals, as well as advice and guidance on professional development.

Financial Representative Internship

Northwestern Mutual has been recognized as a top 100 internship program for 24 straight years and in 2020 Vault ranked them #5 within the financial services industry. Their internship includes a training program that helps candidates build a foundation in finance, insurance, and sales.

BAE Systems | Nationwide

Summer Internships and Co-Op Program

BAE Systems Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP (Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress) offers a variety of opportunities during the summer and throughout the school year within the company’s multiple office locations. The internship program is open to both technical and non-technical majors. Interns are hired onto various teams across the sector, which may include engineering, operations, finance, communications, business development, human resources and more.

Capgemini Government Solutions | Washington DC Metro Area

Campus Internships

The Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) 2021 Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students in technical and business-related majors the opportunity to work in an interactive environment supporting federal government clients. Candidates will gain knowledge of the consulting and information technology needs of the federal government clients while developing fundamental consulting skills.

Early Career Technical Leadership Program

Recognized as one of America’s Best Employers for Diversity by Forbes in 2019 and Top Veteran Employer by MilitaryHire.com in 2018, there are many reasons to consider an internship with SAIC. This organization currently offers a variety of internship and career launch opportunities including their Technical Leadership Program. This four- to six-month talent development program is for STEM college graduates interested in a full-time, entry-level position focused on technical solution consulting. Early career candidates will develop critical leadership and functional skills in areas such as cyber security, data science, IT engineering and application development.
